House M

RESIDENTIAL, COMPLETED, NEW BUILDING

The new building of House M is oriented towards the neighboring buildings in an abstract form in terms of building shape and façade design. The expressive brickwork emphasizes the building without being too dominant.

Along the prestigious avenue in the center of Münster are many detached (historic) residential buildings and administrative buildings. The new building of House M is based on the neighboring buildings in an abstract form in terms of building shape and façade design. The materiality of natural stone-colored clinker brick and façade sheeting reflects the colorfulness of the surroundings.

The clinker brick from the Janinhoff manufactory is laid in wild relief; the base sorting, in which only the back of the brick is visible, gives the masonry a broken, soft structure. The plinth area, on the other hand, is made of bronze-colored painted aluminum with regular vertical bends. In the stairwell area, the folded sheet metal with perforated punching extends into the roof, allowing diffuse views of the stairs and diffusing the interior light outwards in the dark.
