Hunsrückbad Simmern
Realized as a local partner for the Dutch architects slangen + koenis architecten.
The design is based on the 2521 concept developed by S+K and the Royal Dutch Swimming Federation (KNZB). 2521 stands for a centrally located sports pool with a length of 25 m and a width of 21 m, around which the service functions such as changing rooms and showers are arranged. In order to be able to use the pool flexibly, there is a lifting floor and the pool can be partitioned off. The idea behind this is to better distribute the water time in order to make optimum use of the hall. To save costs, the building is being constructed without a basement and with a high degree of prefabrication.
