Harburger Höfe
Conversion, refurbishment and extension of the listed Phoenix site with its striking chimney in the middle of Harburg's harbor district
The listed Phoenixareal with its striking chimney is a landmark building in Hamburg Harburg. Red brick and the still active production facilities have shaped the district for many decades. However, the prominent site is undergoing change. The Harburger Höfe are spearheading the new development, transferring the charm of the listed former warehouses and production halls into innovative and forward-looking usage units.
Elemental co-living on the roof and the activation of the space between the two “Harburg ships” create an attractive place to work, live, meet and exchange ideas. New pathways are created and the surrounding area is suddenly revitalized. The train station, Phoenix, Falckenberg Collection and adjacent residential area together become a path, destination, place and meeting point.
