University of Aachen – Laboratory AOC

EDUCATION, LABORATORY, PLANNING PHASE, NEW BUILDING, UNIVERSITY

The Institute of Inorganic and Organic Chemistry at RWTH Aachen University stands out from the university campus with its colorful accents.

Laboratory construction is a key focus at KRESINGS. In Aachen, for example, a modern, sustainable and distinctive urban laboratory building will be built on the Königshügel of the Hörn campus for the RWTH, giving the research location a strong identity. It articulates the spatial conclusion of a chain of buildings, stringent in its form, visually as a striking landmark and completes the idea of a campus in green surroundings. The clear structure of the building ensures easy orientation and creates a variety of visual relationships. The eye-catcher on the university campus will be the façade made of colored industrial glass and the bright yellow open staircase in the atrium.
The laboratory landscapes ensure permanent flexibility on the basis of a basic functional pattern. The building is characterized by a high degree of technology.
