Carrer del Sol N° 3
The mature village of Pollença in the north of the Balearic island is not only known for its traditional Sunday market. The interesting urban staircase up to the El Calvari and the old Roman bridge Pont Romà also attract travelers interested in culture.
Parallel to the lively market square - just a stone's throw away - is Carrer del Sol. A street with medieval foundations that is characteristic of the town of Pollença.
No. 3 also carries the history of the village within it. The first floor in particular, with its broad walls, tells of a different era. In the 1960s, there was a great deal of upward striving. This gave house no. 3, which is one storey higher than the neighboring buildings, a tower character.
The living space of 125 m² is spread over four floors, three bedrooms with en suite bathrooms as well as a compact entrance hall on the first floor and a kitchen on the third floor with direct access to the roof terrace. The latter rewards guests for the many steps they have to take to be able to linger slightly above the rooftops of the village.
The light beige of the façade facing the street with green shutters gave way to pure white - both inside and out. Two splashes of color, the entrance door and the new staircase from the kitchen to the terrace, contrast with a strong yellow and give No. 3 a warm, inviting and friendly appearance.
Access to the terrace via the internal steel staircase is the heart of the architectural concept. The transition between small, narrow and larger rooms culminates in an unmistakable panorama over the striking town of Pollença.
