OFFICE, CONVERSION, EXTENSION, COMPLETED

Openness and transparency reflect the historical foundation and draw attention to future dimensions.

As the concrete façade of the district government building on Münster's Domplatz was dilapidated, the façade and the entire entrance area had to be renovated and extended.
The administrative building of the district government on Münster's Domplatz is characterized by two horizontal windows that offer a view from the outside into important rooms such as the meeting room area and the office area of the district president. In addition to the installation of new windows, the outside area in front of the main entrance was built over with an approx. 350 m² glass hall as a reception area. It offers citizens more transparency and invites them to look around, while at the same time offering attractive views of the cathedral and market square. Four Italian camphor trees provide citizens with a green eye-catcher. Beige travertine from Italy sets the tone for the exterior of the building.
