Auf der Friedrichsburg
Over the next few years, a new lively and attractive urban quarter “Auf der Friedrichsburg” with a modern mobility concept will be created on the former Pluggendorf monastery site in Münster's city center.
A good 500 new apartments with high sustainability standards are planned. As the developer, LVM aims to further develop Pluggendorf in its characteristic diversity and create living space for families, senior citizens, single households and students. The new urban quarter is to be colorful. There are also plans for childcare, restaurants and local amenities, as well as communal neighborhood meeting places and offices. The plan is for green spaces in the district to make up more than a third of the total area. Three public squares with plenty of seating and green inner courtyards offer a variety of areas with a high quality of stay. In addition, generously planned play areas for children of all ages with sandpits, climbing trees, play hills, trampolines and multi-play elements will enhance the quality of life in the neighborhood.
The aim is to achieve platinum certification from the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB). This also includes a modern mobility concept. Those wishing to reach the quarter by car will be guided directly from Weseler Strasse and Kolde-Ring to an underground parking garage with around 500 parking spaces. There will be no motorized traffic within the new quarter. An additional underground bicycle garage will provide space for around 1,800 bicycles. There are also plans for a mobility hub in the urban quarter with services for all interested citizens - including those from the neighborhood - such as public transport services, information boards with mobility information, electronic timetable information, car sharing, a cargo bike rental service and a parcel station.
Under the leadership of the general planners from HPP, LVM has commissioned six architectural firms to design several houses for different residential uses and in different locations. In addition to KRESINGS and HPP from Düsseldorf, architectural teams from Lorenzen Mayer (Berlin), Hosoya Schäfer (Zurich), KBNK (Hamburg) and 3pass (Cologne) are involved.
