Foundation Stone Laid at Elisabeth Selbert High School

The laying of the cornerstone on Bernburger Straße in Düsseldorf-Eller marked the symbolic start of the expansion of the four-track Elisabeth-Selbert-Gymnasium, which was founded in 2024.
The cornerstone was symbolically laid by City Manager Burkhard Hintzsche, together with School Principal Lourdes Campagna and Dagmar Wandt, Director of the Office of Schools and Education. The entire planning and construction management team from KRESINGS was on site.

The ceremony began with a performance by the school choir, followed by remarks from Mr. Hintzsche, a female and a male student from the lower school (there is currently only a lower school), and Ms. Campagna. The highlight of the event was a very moving speech by the granddaughter of the school’s namesake, Elisabeth Selbert, about her grandmother’s life and work. After the ceremony, guests were treated to currywurst and cold drinks.
