Another milestone has been reached on the way to the new school building for the newly implemented secondary school in Düsseldorf-Eller: planning permission has been granted. Now nothing stands in the way of the urgently needed school places. The new grammar school on Bernburger Straße started last school year. It will be gradually built as a four-form grammar school with nine year groups and up to 1,000 pupils.

KRESINGS is planning the extension and refurbishment of the former secondary school building. The result is a fully-fledged and barrier-free secondary school with a new triple sports hall. The first year group had already moved in at the start of the 2024/25 school year. The conversion, extension and refurbishment will now be carried out in several construction phases while the school remains open.

The new building with very low energy requirements, its own photovoltaic system, open-air classrooms and school garden will be constructed as a three-storey block and is primarily intended for secondary level one with four classes each. The auditorium, music rooms and a cluster area are located on the ground floor of this block. In addition to further classrooms, the upper floors will mainly house science classrooms.
