Studio KRESINGS as JUNG reference

JUNG not only manufactures switches and building technology, but is also strongly committed to building culture and architectural communication. In a current report on circular and resource-saving construction, individual best-practice references are presented alongside general theses.

One of these is our recently occupied studio in Münster, a good example of reusability, resource conservation and flexible use of historic buildings - in our case a former grain distillery in the densely built-up Hansaviertel district of Münster.

Under this link you can find the detailed project report on the JUNG website.

KRESINGS' new offices are located in the main factory building on the site of the former grain brandy distillery in Münster's Hansaviertel district. The former industrial use of the complex is still clearly recognizable today in the Hanseatic brick architecture with the chimney visible from afar. The interior design showcases the contrast between old and new. Thick walls, exposed brickwork and heavy wooden beams meet lots of white, clear edges, smooth surfaces and geometric shapes. Circular wall openings in the interior, cubic furniture, wall elements and fixtures in primary colors - radically reduced and simple.

The conversion of the industrial building shows how sensitive renovations promote future-oriented construction by preserving historical substance and harmoniously integrating modern elements.
