
Kilian Kresing
Kilian Kresing, born in 1979, studied architecture at the Technical University of Munich, the ETSA in Madrid, and RWTH Aachen University. After working in Zurich, London, and Düsseldorf, he co-founded the firm KRESINGS in Münster in 2010 with Rainer Maria Kresing, building on the Studio KRESING Architektur that Rainer Maria Kresing had established in 1985.
In 2016, Kilian and Christian Kawe opened their own studio, KRESINGS, in Düsseldorf, followed in 2023 by the founding of KRESINGS GeneralplanungsGmbH.
Kilian Kresing is a registered architect with the Architects’ Associations of London and North Rhine-Westphalia and a appointed member of the Council of the Federal Foundation for Building Culture. He has held teaching positions at TU Dortmund University, served as a visiting professor at GUTech in Muscat, Oman, and, since 2023, has been teaching at TH OWL in Detmold.
In 2014, he was appointed to the BDA; in 2021, to the Design Commission of the City of Dresden; and in 2022, to the Design Advisory Board of the City of Aachen. Kilian is an active mentor at NAX, the Network for Architecture Export, and has been involved with the Federal Center for Cultural and Creative Industries since 2026. His commitment to building culture is evident in his numerous jury assignments and lectures—including at the Ettersburg Talks, the German Architecture Day, the polis Convention, various chambers of architects, and the Women in Architecture Festival.
