Heinze Architecture AWARD 2024 for the CIC
The CIC has been honoured again. At the Klimafestival in Berlin, Kilian and the client Sarah Wöstmann personally accepted the Heinze ArchitectureAWARD 2024 the best project in the ‘Work + Production + Infrastructure’ category from the jury (Elise Pischetsrieder, Prof Anja Rosen and Prof Amandus Sattler).
From the jury statement:
The subsequent use of this special type of building in a difficult urban context poses a major challenge, which the jury believes has been solved very well here. The given potential, also due to the special building geometry, was recognised and developed in an outstanding manner. The colour and feel of the wooden fixtures form a contrast to the existing raw reinforced concrete components, making the existing structure an excellent experience. This is further enhanced by the cantilevering of the room-in-room structures towards the central courtyard, skilfully staging the curved shape of the building.
