State of North Rhine-Westphalia honors technology campus
The state of North Rhine-Westphalia regularly awards schools or offices that have been built to be particularly energy-efficient the title of “Energy-Efficient Non-Residential Buildings.”
Our Hilden Technology Campus has just been honored by the state of North Rhine-Westphalia and NRW.Energy4Climate. Climate-friendly buildings—both new and existing—are an important building block on the path to a climate-neutral future. The award-winning projects focus on energy conservation and the use of renewable energies, thereby providing exemplary support for the heating transition in the building sector and the achievement of climate targets.
From the jury statement:
New sustainable working environment at the Technology Campus in Hilden
In Hilden, the Technik Campus was built for Soeffing Kälte Klima GmbH. It was designed with sustainability in mind and offers employees a flexible and sustainable working environment. The sustainable construction is evident in the use of a ceiling system made from recycled plastic and a prefabricated curtain wall made from wooden elements. Another key element is the green roof, which helps improve the microclimate and retain rainwater. Heating and cooling are provided by heat pumps, which are supplied with green electricity from a large PV system on the roof of the adjacent hall.
